We asked our Board members to share why they support BBAF and how swimming has changed their lives.

Here are a few of their answers:

“Growing up as a low-income immigrant, swimming lessons were a luxury that our family could not afford. But the financial assistance I received for summer swim lessons gave me the confidence to start triathlons at age 33, join a Masters swim team at age 40 and complete over 60 triathlons through 2017 (including multiple Ironman distance races). Those swimming lessons changed my life forever.” – Mike Molano

“I think that all kids should have the same opportunities that I had to learn to swim and engage in aquatic activities. Swimming has made me a much healthier person and has also introduced me to a wonderful group of friends.” – Dave Mandelkernย

“BBAF is saving and changing the lives of kids by providing scholarships for swim lessons at their neighborhood pool. Knowing how to swim results in healthier and safer lives, as well as positive, confident hearts and minds. Let’s make this possible for everyone!” – Andy Chan
