Mateo is a BBAF swimmer, participating in the Waves for Change program at the Presidio Y.
Mateo shared that, before attending Downtown High School and Waves for Change, he barely attended classes and was angry all the time. Now, he likes class and loves to be in the water. He said, “My spirit animal is a dolphin and I’m not angry anymore.”
